Today, on behalf of SJK(C) Ladang Hillside, I must thank Dato Yeow to offer himself to take over as the Leader for the School Rebuild Committee. Due to the lacking of resources, leadership of the current Board Directors, the school children suffered huge agony as appear in the paper few days ago. The delay for the past 2 years was due to lack of Leadership articulation, virile willing to bear responsibility, after May 2009 the children has been transferred to the cabin, until today all the cost has been born by PIBG, we do fund raising at Pasar Malam, getting public support, getting support from Persatuan Peniaga Kecil, getting support from MCA. And IJM Land has sponsored the school with 4 cabins, new toilet and walkway. Without all these support, we can't make this happen, how on earth to let the children study at the carpark? With sweating under the hot sunny sky! and that's your kids! Your own flesh and bloods. The school has been declared as "Dangerous Building since 2001" by JKR and unfit for any further schooling, if you know this, how could you forgive yourself if the roofing drop and kill your own son? How could we maintain this kind of fire fighting attitude? This is concerning life, no joke, please for God Sake have some common sense. And today, the Board Director denying all their responsibility, whatever PIBG did is nothing concern with them. This is totally insane, unbelievable!
Next lacking of experiences, that merely guessing, ignorance the science of governing, no follow up action on almost ANYTHING! Quoting “ If you(parent) cannot wait, please go away”. This is how sickening the lackadaisical attitude that is killing the school children. Due to political background differences, whatever appear on the surface looks good, but behind it there’s no proper communication at all. Everything is WAITING, and NO follow up. Everytime meeting is talking on the samething, and moving nowhere. Everytime end up with no result, cursing, and quoting if you cannot wait, please go away. For us, If you cannot do, please do not stop the earth from moving! The school children is suffering every single second, a cabin should last for a year, now coming to more than 2 years, the germs and bacteria spread all over the cabins, foul smell, those kids with poor lung function will experienced pneumonia, several cases happen already, and how could we close our eyes and pretending nothing happening?
Then honesty, as honesty hates hypocrisy and cannot live concealment and deceit. The letter of JKR to Tai Lan headmaster as far in year 2001, why it’s been covering up for such a dangerous matter concerning to the safety of school children and teacher life? How could this happen? Why are you all hiding it? As a normal human being with basic common sense , we can’t understand why this matter has been dragging for the past 10 years, where is your sincerity ? where is your honesty? Where is your conscious as a human being?
I have described, so far, qualities entirely of the mind, the mental and moral equipment without which no Board of Director can successfully meet the administrative and material problem of his office. It is possible with only these qualities for a man to be a reasonably efficient Board of Director, but there’s one thing more needed to make him great Board of Director. It is that the quality of soul which makes a man loved by little children, that quality of soul which makes him strong help to all those in sorrow or in trouble, that quality which makes him not merely admired, but loved by all the teachers, parents, friends that the quality of sympathetic understanding of the human heart, of real interest in the school children education advancement. Instinctively he sense the popular need because he himself has lived through the hardship, the labor, and the sacrifice which must be endured by every man of heroic mould who struggles up to eminence from obscurity and low estate. Between him and the people is that subtle bond which makes him their champion and makes them enthusiastically trust him with their loyalty and their love. Our greatest PIBG President, Kwan Shee Tuch possessed this quality to an unusual degree. It was, indeed, what above all made him great, I can’t tolerate this anymore after looking at one of the teacher Madam Tee, weeping after listening to Kwan elaborate on the school matter this morning. It is what is so conspicuously lacking in our present Board Director administration, a lack which has been at the bottom of the growing dislike and even hatred of the other teacher, headmaster towards them. For without this love and understanding of his fellow men, no any LEADER can win for his land that can bring up the new hope for the school rebuild.
Again, today I feel very glad that the president of MCA, Dato Yeow has offered him self as the new leader for School Rebuild Committee, as you are the only hope that can make this happen, on you depend the school tomorrow.
